We are located at 14025 US Highway 27, Hoagland, IN 46745.

Directions from downtown Fort Wayne: South on Clinton (US27) for 10 miles. Located on the east side of the road just 1/4 mile south of 9 mile restaurant.

Directions from Decatur: North on US27 for 11 miles. Located on the east side of the road 1/4 mile south of 9 mile restaurant.

What is Cider?….What is Mead?

Cider (AKA hard cider) is fermented apple juice. The juice is pressed from fresh apples, then yeast is pitched. The yeast converts the sugars in the juice (fructose) to CO2, heat, yummy flavors, and alcohol. It is then aged and/or blended to produce different styles of cider.

Fresh pressed juice is often called “cider”, but traditionally would be called apple juice.

Mead is honey wine. Honey is mixed with water, then yeast is pitched. The yeast converts the sugars from the honey to CO2, heat, yummy flavors, and alcohol. It is then aged and/or blended to produce different styles of mead.

What ages are welcome?

All ages are welcome to our orchard barn, although ages 21 and under must be accompanied by an adult. As a farm winery, we are not required to have a separated bar area. All children must be supervised. Feel free to ask for a tour!

What is there to do?

We have an orchard barn that sells Benders Orchard apples, honey, maple syrup,  and other locally made items. On the other side of the barn is our fermentation and tasting room. This is where you can sit, relax, and sample craft made cider and mead. We planted 490 trees in our orchard in the Spring of 2019, with plans to plant 270 Asian Pear trees in 2021.

Do you have any gluten free options?

All of our ciders and meads are naturally gluten free.

Can we rent the barn for a private event?

Yes! Contact us for availability. Our rates are subject to change based on the time/day and space required.

Per state law, no other alcohol is allowed on the property .

Per state law, any minor on the property must have an adult family member (over 21) present.
